Office renovations across much of the 4th floor of the City-County Building (CCB) are slated to begin March 30th. This page is designed to keep all 30+ departments impacted by this work up to date as to the project status.
Project Description
Over the past decade or more, city departments such as Codes Enforcement, Plans & Inspections, and Engineering as well as community-wide entities such as the Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) have met the demand of our community's growth utilizing their existing office layouts. Inefficiencies within these outdated office layouts and their locations within the CCB combined with the ongoing growth of our community has driven a need to renovate these offices in order to better serve the public.
The animation below shows the existing pre-construction conditions transitioning into the post-construction layout. The new layouts increase the amount of open, shared office space and improve functional groupings of related staff while maximizing the use of available space to improve operational efficiency. Areas covered with hatching are not directly affected by the current renovations.
The following image provides a look at how departments lay out in the renovated space.
