In order to maintain sufficient office space throughout the project and continue with operations, this project has been divided into three phases of construction.
Phase I-County Trustee Hall will open the hallway outside the County Trustee offices to provide access to the temporary Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) offices and permanent access to the city's Fire Prevention Bureau for staff and the public. The majority of work in this phase will be conducted after hours and should take about two weeks to complete.
Phase II-4th Floor Southern (Riverside) Offices will renovate the majority of the southern side of the 4th floor to create space for the new Development Services offices which will unify Engineering and Plans & Inspections. This phase will also renovate portions of the MPC offices. MPC will temporarily condense their operations and public service counter into the Phase III portion of their current offices while Engineering, Public Service, and Neighborhood Codes will relocate to temporary spaces.
Phase III-4th Floor West End Offices, Central Core & Elevator Lobby, and East Hallway/Conference Rooms will renovate the remaining MPC offices, convert the former Fleet offices into shared-use conference rooms, and provide updates to the remaining public circulation space. MPC will temporarily condense their operations into the portion of their offices completed in Phase II, Fleet will be permanently relocated to offices on the 5th floor, and the new Development Services (a combination of Engineering, Plans & Inspections, and Fire Prevention will permanently move into the spaces completed in Phase II.
